Adopting an unusual rollout strategy, TBS will air the entire first season this week, with two episodes airing each night (through Friday) from 11-midnight. For one thing, Dorothy (True Detective's Adria Arjona) is no longer a child; she's 20 years old, and even her canine companion has been upgraded to fierce police dog. Also on board are Joely Richardson as Glinda and Vincent D’Onofrio as the Wizard of Oz. Together, they find themselves in a land of "competing kingdoms, lethal warriors, dark magic and a bloody battle for supremacy"—in other words, the network is going for more of a Game of Thrones vibe. Tarsem Singh (The CellMirror Mirror) directs all 10 episodes, so expect something gorgeous, over-the-top, and confusing. Special two-hour premiere.

With Downton Abbey finished, PBS is turning to another British period drama series to fill its high-profile Masterpiece showcase. Victoria, starring Jenna Coleman and Rufus Sewell, follows the Queen of the same name during her first three years on the throne, beginning when she was just 18.
