One of the best qualities anyone can have is emotional intelligence. It is essential to the success of personal and professional relationships. And in astrology, there are some emotionally intelligent zodiac signs who are gifted in this way.
Emotional Intelligence, also known as E.I. and E.Q., is a term created by two researchers, Peter Salavoy and John Mayer, and popularized by Daniel Goleman in his book Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ.
Emotional Intelligence means you’re able to recognize, understand, and manage your own emotions, and that you’re also able to see and influence the emotions of others. People with emotional intelligence are extremely empathetic, self-aware, and passionate. They’re not rigid and are able to adapt to the circumstances that surround them.
Optimism is another quality that people who are emotionally intelligent have; they know that having a positive attitude is the one thing they can truly control about themselves, and that feeling hopeful about the future and living each day by being as positive as they can is always a mood-booster.
1. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers have a talent for making people feel as if they can be completely open and honest about their feelings. Maybe this is because Cancers genuinely enjoy listening to people and helping them come up with solutions to their problems.
Cancers crave an emotional connection with other people, and one way of doing that is to be tuned into their own feelings and how empathize with others.
2. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
One of the ways that Geminis are emotionally intelligent is because they try not to ignore their feelings, especially negative feelings. When Geminis have negative emotions or issues that involve another person, they don't let them fester; they deal with them as soon as they can.
Not saying anything at all isn't an option for Gemini. Confrontation may be uncomfortable, but for them, it's a better option than not doing anything.
3. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces are especially emotionally intelligent in the way they have empathy for everyone and they always try to see things from other people's perspectives. They can be easily swayed, which is a good thing.
They're not so stubborn that they won't see reason or change their mind. These individuals can feel another person's pain, and they can imagine what it would be like to experience it themselves. That's probably because they have, and they've worked through it.
4. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
One of the qualities that people who are truly emotionally intelligent have is self-awareness, and Leo is extremely self-aware. They know what their strengths and weaknesses are, and they're always in the process of growing and improving themselves.
In addition, just because Leo is kind and helpful, it doesn't mean they stop at a certain point. No, they'll always continue to try and be even kinder and more helpful, and they work to strengthen their weaker traits. Leos have a handle on their emotions and an understanding of the emotions of other people.
5. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras are emotionally intelligent in their ability to read people — they can read between the lines of what people say, interpret the body language of others, and they're intuitive enough to pick up on subtle signs. Libras seem to know what other people need, whether it's a kind word or gesture.
They trust their intuition and try to listen to their gut feelings when dealing with tense situations or hard decisions. They try not to act rashly and would rather get as much information as they can before taking action. Libras would rather defuse a volatile situation than add to it.
6. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Some of the most emotionally intelligent people are those who possess an analytical mind and are able to tell the difference between the things they need versus the things that they want. And that's Virgo all the way.
Virgos are always trying to understand what makes themselves tick and the behaviors of other people. They tend to keep their emotions in check, but that doesn't mean they don't express them — they do, they just tend to do it in a mature and rational way.
Virgos take the feelings of others into consideration and try not to deliberately hurt someone to make themselves feel better.
